(9) Finance Officers Report; Terry Lavis
(A) Bar and Hall Managers Report; Terry said we did better in Sept. and had a positive month. Having fewer expenses helped. Stakeouts’ ended up for the year less than successful along with Post attendance. Hard copies of Terry’s report are available for review in the Post. The Post can not justify opening on Monday’s.
(B) Ken said the Post had a wedding which went well. Also the District meeting was successful and was well attended.
Dale Lindow 5/8/2018 (C) Ken needs a barrel to replace the out door grill because it’s rotted out.

(10) Reports of Committees
(A) Membership 1st. Vice Membership is 227 but due to deaths it should be 213. A discussion followed regarding how to remove deceased members. Forms to remove deceased members were provided by Terry Lavis. Commander will discuss with Curtis Lyons how to handle.
(A) Functions 2nd. Vice Events were discussed from last months meeting. Gary Gagleard wanted to know about the Oct. 15th Oktoberfest event but Tim is absent. Without a chairperson, the event is canceled.
(B) Building Maintenance- No current issues.
(C) Adjutant Communication Nothing new
(D) Service Officer
(E) Scholarship Chairman Nothing
(F) White Clover-Chairman Terry discussed the White Clover collection including collection locations and cleaning of the vests and aprons by Peggy Lavis. $1814.80 collected for this year. Lester wanted to discuss how donations are handled. Terry said all donations go through the register to account for all funds. Discussion followed. Also discussed was the pool table and electronic games.

(11) Old Business (unfinished Business)
Terry said the District 2 meeting wants to take care of the Homeless Vets and need donations of men and women’s underwear, socks, sheets, pillowcases etc. Terry wants to make a donation from the Post to use ~$100 to buy items to give to the District. Motion by Terry, 2nd. Roy King Motion passed.
(12) New Business
Terry noted a number of planned functions to generate money for the Post. Roy King noted that workers helping at functions must pay $1.00 for drinks. Terry noted this policy does not apply to the Saginaw VA hospital run. Terry noted the toy donation (food and toys) on Dec. 3rd. at 12:00 by Hells’ Our Home 3rd. annual collection. Terry noted the boxes in the bar area are collecting items for the Michigan Military Moms to donate gifts to active veterans. Terry said the Fire pits are completed. Joe Hansen noted the hay rides need to be safe and should be off the busy roads. Terry said a number of Vets are now certified to serve food at the Post. Terry will loan the Post $1000 to start the horse shoe pits. Terry discussed the plans of the pits. Gary Gagleard said there are forms at the bar register to give tax donation credit for any donations to the Post.
Dale Lindow 5/8/2018 Terry noted Dave Sopfe’s wife is ill. A card was sent from the Post. Andy is also in the Hospital. Terry said we now have the State license to have raffles in the post. Jim May has some updates to the Constitution and the By-laws. Jim also has a current membership list and will post on the board. Jim also reminds us to update any missing phone numbers of members. Jim also will be attending the Grayling Fall conference this weekend Oct. 8-9th. Marko said his functions, the pig roast and fish fry went well and made money for the Post. Marko noted VG’s has a good sale of caned goods for donation in the Post or other. Lester suggested we needed another supply of bibles. Terry said they’re on order with the District. Ed Chartier said there is no info regarding the up and coming Post functions on the website calendar. Gary Gagleard made a motion to include Post 72’s website info on the road sign 2nd. by Terry Lavis Motion carried. Jim May said a Wake is always free for the Post members. Jim made the motion to clarify, 2nd. Roy King. None Post member families must pay $50. Motion passed. Lester wants to know about the Cemetery visit on Nov. 11-11 at 11:00 am. Luncheon is planned. Military Mom’s restored the wreath. Ken said Joey’s barber shop does a Veteran’s ceremony that day too. Ed Chartier suggested ways to save energy for the Post i.e. CFL’s LED’s when replacing lights.
(13) Sons of the AMVETS report, Scott wants to have members attend Friday night’s fish fry. Scott wants to send out email notification about functions to all members, Son’s and auxiliary.
(14) Good and Welfare As discussed, Andy and Sue Sopfe are ill.
