MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 21, 2015 MEETING Rosemary Hogan-Cunningham called the meeting to order at 6:56 P.M.

MEMBER’S PRESENT: Rosemary Hogan-Cunningham, Chairman, Sue Cannon, Douglas Hamilton, Roger Nelson, Barbara Sullivan, and Frances Urbank.

ALSO PRESENT: Ann Marie Claffey, Director, and John Sullivan Municipal Agent.

ABSENT: Cindy Cooper, and Edward Lanati.

PUBLIC: None.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Upon a motion by Barbara Sullivan, seconded by Frances Urbank; the Minutes for June 15, 2015 were approved, with the following correction; under Members Absent add: William Hamel. William Hamel abstained.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Ann Marie Claffey presented the Treasurer's Report as provided by the Finance Dept. Discussion followed on account financial information as of 9/08/15. Upon a motion by William Hamel to accept the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Roger Nelson; the motion passed.

PUBLIC INPUT: N/A.

BUS COORDINATOR’S REPORT: Ann Marie Claffey presented the June, July and August 2015 reports. Discussion on shuttle service, ridership, and bus passes. Frances Urbank made a motion to accept the Bus Coordinator Reports as presented with corrections to Bus Pass Sales and seconded by Sue Cannon, the report was approved.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Ann Marie Claffey presented the Directors Report.

 Programs and Upcoming events: Family Bingo (9/25), Nutrition Class-Pump up your Food Demo (9/30), Internet Safety/Technology Workshop (10/7), Presentation on Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island (11/5), Certified Psychic Medium (11/19). Locks Fitness Center had approximately 267 visits in June, 256 visits in July, and 202 visits in August.  Charter Trips include: Winnipesaukee Railroad Turkey Train (9/29), Joseph-Sands Resort, Lancaster, PA (10/12-14), Oktoberfest @ The Platzl Brauhaus Pomona, NY (10/13), Halloween in Salem (10/17), USO Show Troupe (11/10), Radio City Christmas Show (11/20), Glenn Miller Orchestra “In the Christmas Mood”(12/10). Casino trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan. Center Bus Trip: CT Day at the Big E (9/23).  Center Survey is completed. Information to be collated. One issue is parking.  Helen Place has retired as Bus Coordinator. Applications are coming in, and interviews will start soon.  Radio Antennae has had a portion repaired.

 The center roof is repaired.  Around Town Singers and Orchestra are looking for new singers for the choral group and members for the orchestra, rehearsals are Sunday afternoons.  Veterans Day celebration will be held at the St. Robert's Hall.

COMMITTEE REPORT AND ACTIONS: a) Transportation Committee: Roger Nelson reported the bus/radio antennae has been repaired.

MUNICIPAL AGENT REPORT: John Sullivan reported that the November SCAN will be a repeat of the September SCAN with corrections: New Free APP For Veterans Benefits. The October SCAN will have information on dangers of strokes, blood thinner medications, and a new device for stopping blood clots called the "Watchman". Tip of the month: instead of using ginger for nausea, pinch the loose skin on the back of your hand/wrist area.

OLD BUSINESS: a) Updates to Senior Center and Transportation Policies and Procedures. Board members received packets for review. Discussion tabled until the next meeting. b) New Bus Status. No word. c) Update on Roof. Under Directors report.

NEW BUSINESS: a) Discussion of Adult Day Care. Rosemary Hogan-Cunningham stated that since the article by Chris Kervick proposing an Adult Day Care facility in Windsor Locks was published in the Journal Inquirer and social media, several people, including Board Member Barbara Sullivan, have asked if CONA would address this soon. Douglas Hamilton made a motion to table discussion of an Adult Day Care until the December meeting after the election. He wants to invite Denise Balboni, Mike Russo, Paul Harrington, and Paul Smith for the discussion. William Hamel stated Mr. Hamilton is making this a political issue by wanting Republican leaders here for the discussion. Roger Nelson asked if there is a need in town. William Hamel stated there is a new assisted facility being built on Old County Rd. which would be a resource. Roger Nelson seconded the motion to table the discussion until the December meeting. The motion passed; 4 Yes, 2 Nay.

ADJOURNMENT: Upon a motion by William Hamel and seconded by Barbara Sullivan the meeting adjourned at 7:49 P.M.
