Next Meeting Welcome, Re-  Francisco welcomed everyone and asked them to Introductions and introduce/reintroduce themselves for the benefit of Announcements people new to the WAC and the college.  WAC Representative on Strategic Planning Committee – Lisa Moulds indicated that she was willing to continue serving on the Strategic Planning Committee, but also willing to step aside to let someone else have the opportunity to serve. Consensus of the committee was to have Lisa continue to serve.

Next Meeting  WAC Representative to Woodring Ad Hoc Bylaws Committee – Greg Hoffenbacker is the CDC Representative, LeAnne Robinson is the FAC Representative. Anselmo Villanueva volunteered to represent WAC. Francisco indicated that he did not anticipate that there would be a lot of work needed to revise the bylaws, but there have been a couple of suggested revisions. As provided in the bylaws, there will be a call for further suggestions for ammendments (due by Dec 31) and the committee will be commence its work

Next Meeting Discussion of Five Francisco reminded the group of the five elements of the

Elements of the Vision college’s vision statement: Statement  Fosters community relationships  Culture of learning  Advancing knowledge  Honoring diversity  Promoting social justice

He then asked particpants to reflect on where the college is at regarding each element and to share their thoughts.

At the conclusion of the discussion, Francisco encouraged the WAC representatives to take this back to their groups and do a similar exercise with them. He reminded WAC members that each of them is a leader and steward of the vision of the college. Strategic Meeting Francisco took the information from the WCE Diversity Follow-Up – Reactions Issues listening sessions (meeting and surveys) and and Recommendations organized it into three groups which he diagramed and

 Curriculum  Representation  Professional Development Karen Dade led a discussion about how the WAC could begin to address the issues identified the notes are in a separate document. Following the discussion, Karen encouraged WAC

Next Meeting members to send her the ideas that they think of later and those from the groups that the WAC members represent. Francisco asked that if groups are working on diversity initiatives to please coordinate with Karen. Karen set a goal to have five things identified that the WAC could do to advance/address the diversity issues.
