ACTIVITIES THIS TERM We have a busy few weeks coming up……..

Tuesday 28th Feb – We are very grateful to FoSS for providing us with all we need for pancake day. Following on from assembly at 10.15am, we will be making and eating (small) pancakes, followed by some school races. If there are any dietary requirements we are not aware of, please contact the office before next Tuesday.

Thursday 2nd March – The first of our World Book Day celebrations. Various activities will be woven into our school day and we would like to invite the pupils to stay on after school until 4.30pm for ‘Books at Bedtime’. Normal school uniform for during the day please but they are welcome to bring their PJ’s, onesies and dressing gowns to change into after school. The school bus will run as usual at the end of the school day for those who are unable to stay on, but for those who would like to stay and usually go home by bus, Mrs Ashley has very kindly offered to do another run at 4.30pm. We have to point out that this is not considered a ‘school run’, it is a private arrangement for which she does have the relevant insurance and we are grateful to her for offering to do this. Anyone already booked in for WAC on this day will receive a credit.

Monday 6th March – School Open Morning from 9.30am to 11.30am. All current and prospective parents are welcome to pop in for a cup of tea and to see some of the activities we have been up to so far this year. Please note that lessons will continue as normal during this time so please keep classroom visits brief.

Friday 17th March – FoSS are hosting another Film Night after school. Full details to follow but please note that Homework Club will not run on this date.

Wednesday 22nd March – Our second celebration of all things Literacy with ‘Once Upon a Time Day’. All parents, grandparents, family and friends are welcome to join us from 2.00pm for an assembly filled with our favourite stories and poems followed by a Mad Hatters Tea Party. Pupils (and guests!) are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and we envisage finishing at the usual time.

Friday 24th March – is Red Nose Day which we will be supporting again this year. Pupils can come to school in ‘Mufti’ clothes for a donation to Red Nose Day. We will also be holding a special ‘Mothers Day’ celebration with a Mother’s Day café (tea, coffee, scones and cream) from 2.00pm followed by a Mother’s Day assembly at 2.30pm. Official invitations to follow but keep the date in your diary.
