Job Description
Position: Dish Washer
Related Titles: Steward; Pot Washer – (AM./PM.)
Essential Functions: Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, china equipment, flatware and glassware
Additional Responsibilities: 1. Wash all wares in dishwashing machine or by hand 2. Polish all silverware, platters and chafing dishes 3. Collect trash from kitchen areas; empties garbage barrels, wash and re-line with new bags 4. Examine garbage for silverware, dishes and glassware 5. Wash and polish all stainless steel in kitchen, including shelves, dish cabinets, refrigerators, walk-ins, etc. 6. Wash or clean receiving area and trash areas 7. Sweep and mop kitchen floors 8. Store all dishes and other wares in proper areas 9. Cleans dish machine after each meal period 10. Perform other tasks such as assisting in food preparation, putting away deliveries, cleaning coolers, freezers and store rooms
Reports to: Executive Steward
Supervises: No supervisory duties are included in this position
Key Objectives / Goals: Key objectives and goals are established with the Executive Chef and reviewed with the annual performance evaluation.
