EXTRACURRICULAR EXPERIENCES  I am currently working as an AVID tutor at Mira Mesa High School. I tutor students from grades 9th through 12th in all subject areas. I am responsible for tutoring students one-on-one and in group settings for three periods a day for approximately 10 hours a week. I also help inform students about college life, especially aspects of college life at UCSD. I encourage students to do well in school and prepare them for excellence at the university level.  I have also worked as an apprentice teacher at Marshall Middle School in Scripps Ranch. I was responsible for teaching one period a day every day for 10 consecutive weeks. I implemented my own lesson plans and discipline philosophy to 37 Honors Pre-Algebra students. I scheduled office hours after school in order to help tutor those needing extra help, and I devised my own grading regimen to determine how to grade my students’ performance.
