DELTA KAPPA GAMMA—ALPHA THETA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP
Delta Kappa Gamma is an international society for women educators. Our local Alpha Theta chapter supports educational efforts both locally and internationally through a variety of projects. One of those projects is encouraging higher education through the granting of a local scholarship to a graduating high school senior girl.
ELIGIBILITY
Graduating senior girls from Quincy School District who are going to further their educations at a two or four year college or university as full time students are eligible.
INFORMATION
The Delta Kappa Gamma scholarship committee will consider the applicants based on the following criteria:
1. Scholarship: grades/academics/course load 2. Community service and extra-curricular activities 3. Motivation and desire in chosen field 4. Letters of recommendation 5. Completed application
HOW TO APPLY
Submit the following to the Quincy High School Guidance Office:
1. A completed application (available at the Guidance Office) 2. A copy of your high school transcript 3. Letters of recommendation 4. Resume 5. A one to two page essay outlining your goals
The scholarship winner will be announced at graduation.
HOW TO OBTAIN SCHOLARSHIP IF CHOSEN
After successfully completing the first semester or quarter as a full time student at an institution of higher education with at least a 2.00 GPA, send a letter attesting to such, along with a copy of your college transcript addressed to Delta Kappa Gamma in care of Mrs. Norma Petersen requesting payment of your scholarship. This must be done within a year after graduation from high school. The check will be sent to the college or university, so include the address of the appropriate financial aid office along with your college/university ID number and your college/university mailing address.
