17th March 2017

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Red Nose Day 2017

The Friends of Winchelsea Primary School (FOWS) are looking forward to having some fun this Friday 24th March 2017 for Red Nose Day! Here’s a quick consolidation of the activities taking place, and details of how your child(ren) can participate:

1. Bake Sale. There will be a Comic Relief bake sale after school starting at 3:20pm in the playground for everyone. Prices are 30p per item, or 4 for £1 (standard bake sale prices). All proceeds will be donated to Comic Relief. Cake and biscuit donations are always most welcome, and can be handed into the school office on Friday morning.

2. Wear Something Red. Miss Duckett has kindly agreed that Friday will be a non-uniform day. Children are welcome to come to school wearing something (anything!) red for a voluntary donation of £1 to Comic Relief. This could be a hair bobble, hairband, socks etc or be dressed from top-to-toe in red! This is a fun day, so wacky hairstyles and comedy glasses etc are all fair game!

3. Sale of Red Noses. The School Council will be selling Red Noses in school from Monday 20th March onwards for £1 each – or donate more.

4. Guess The Number of Sweets In The Jar. Between Monday 20th - Friday 24th March, Ellie Crawley in Year 5 is giving everyone in school an opportunity to enter her competition, for a 20p donation to Comic Relief, to guess the number of sweets in her sweet jar. The closest guess, as adjudicated by Ellie’s mum, will win the jar of sweets! Please bring in the correct change if you wish to enter Ellie’s competition, as Ellie will have a collection bucket and will not be able to give change. The winner will be announced the following week!

Please remember, for our younger pupils, that all money donations should come to school in their bookbags, in a named envelope detailing what the money is for. This will ensure we can all support the children’s continued independence on entering their classrooms in the morning.

The FOWS hope this short letter has been helpful, and look forward to having a little bit of fun on Friday!
