NO NUTS TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS!!!

This is a heads-up for new singers and a reminder for veterans. It will run for the first few weeks of choir while we get everyone registered)

Our member who is seriously allergic to nuts (all kinds) is with us again this season. Please do not bring anything to choir that contains any type or amount of nuts. In fact please don’t eat nuts before coming to rehearsals or concerts. Even the smell of nuts on someone’s breath can trigger an anaphylactic reaction with drastic negative results.

Please keep this request firmly in mind and make our GHC Tuesday and Thursday practices absolutely nut free time Submitted by Harley Lappin zones! former GHC Bass ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **

COMMUNITY MEMBERS’ LIFE ANNOUNCEMENTS Birthings or passings, celebrations or sadnesses, travels or returns, promotions or projects, etc. If known please include choir community affiliations (ie GHC, HNC, etc.) and, if GHC, the night and section for the subject(s) and submitter of the item (if different).

A Passing: KATE ANDERSON

Through coincidence and sharing interests in two communities, yesterday I attended the memorial and spreading of ashes of Kate Anderson.

She was a graduate of Shivon & Denis' first Community choir Leadership Trainings program in 2014/5. She then joined the GHC as an Alto for the 2003 Fall and 2004 Spring seasons and subsequently moved to the HNC in its 2004 Fall season. Later she re-joined the GHC for several seasons between 2010 and 2012.

Kate who was well into her eighties, had a joyous playful heart, loved to sing and embraced the spiritual practice of Yoga.

Please know that Kate has returned home to the shores of Kootenay Lake, by the Yasodhara Ashram. Hopefully my (as normal, out of tune) sharing in the signing of Woyaya sufficiently carried on GHC's tradition of being there for its members.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN ELECTORAL REFORM?

As many of you probably are aware the federal government has formed a Special Committee on Electoral Reform. Since that is an interest of mine I have created a web site to present a new electoral system that I would like the committee and Canadians in general to consider.

I have submitted the proposal to the committee formally and sent information to each committee member directly
