ASL - Cooking Show Presentation Due: ______Rough draft due: ______2 people in a group Memorized You will be videotaped on the day of the presentation. Time: 4-7 minutes Value: 100 pts. - Presentation grade for the written draft 100 pts. - Presentation grade for the written final draft 200 pts. – Presentation grade for the presentation itself Research: You must find a dish that you would be able to easily make at home or at school. Grammar: You must use correct ASL grammar. (make sure you have clear facial expressions) (use Listing and ordering: Starting with thumb, items listed in order of importance, labeled each finger, referred back to as needed) Vocabulary: You must use vocabulary from Unit related to food. Props: Whether real or created, you will need props for everything you use. A poster/banner with your show name. Props can be oversized. Knives cannot be real, they can be plastic. Clothing: On presentation day please dress according to skin tone. If you are going to wear an apron, chef hat, etc… make sure it doesn’t get in the way of your signing. Turn in: You will turn in a 12 font typed copy of your final presentation. It will need the following: PAGE 1  Title for your cooking show  Your Names  Name of dish- and background information about your dish(If it is from another country or has a cultural background, please explain it)  list of ingredients and quantities  Simple cooking directions (Ex: Cut the tomato, add 1 teaspoon of salt....)  Typed ASL gloss EX: HELLO WELCOME PERFORM TITLE FS-… June: Hello and welcome to … NOW THANK-YOU WATCH PERFORM Josh: Thank you for joining us today… Notes:  I highly recommend getting together with your partner on phone/SKYPE/FACE TIME/FACEBOOK every day for at least 15 minutes.  Divide up the work evenly. There is nothing worse than hearing only one person did all the work.  You are graded separately on everything; however, 1 person not having their lines memorized will unfortunately affect the other person when there is a conversation. Begin memorizing ASAP to avoid gaps in conversation. You should practice the entire presentation in front of family members, friends, pets, whoever will listen at least 3 times before presenting in class!  You have a partner, outside sources, and classmates. Please use all of your resources. I will only be available for help on what needs to go into the presentation DURING CLASS, DURING A LUNCH, AND BEFORE SCHOOL!!!
