Romeo and Juliet Theme Park

William Shakespeare is a man for all times. It is now time to show this time (your time) how much fun they can have with him by creating a Romeo and Juliet theme park. You have been chosen for the job of developer. You must make important decision regarding the attractions, cost, restrooms, restaurants, and many other things. You are also in charge of promoting this park. Therefore you will create a plan for modern day. The plan can be in the form of a website or planned out the old fashion way- paper and pen.

Please include the following: 1. The name of your theme park. (Be creative don’t make Romeo and Juliet’s Theme Park) Do you have a slogan?

2. There needs to be at least 6 main attractions with names. Think of Great Adventure, Sesame Place, or Disney as a model. Research their website. What are your main attractions? These are major rides that people would come to your park simply to see and experience. You must include rides and descriptions of the ride. Is it a rollercoaster, a kiddie’s ride, a thrill ride? How fast does it go? What is the name of the ride and why did it receive the name? How fast does it go? Where is it located in the park? Etc.

3. Where is the theme park located? City? State? Country? Why here?

4. What is the cost of admission? Be realistic. Are there different prices? Discount days?

5. There needs to be at least 3 restaurants. What are the names of the restaurants? What do they serve in each restaurant? What are the prices in the restaurants? Where are they located within the park? Do you have any food carts in addition to the restaurants? What would they serve?

6. There needs to be at least 2 gift shops. What would you sell in the gift shops? What are the names of the gift shops? What are the big ticket items that they sell?

7. Do you have any additional entertainment features? Fireworks? Parades? Shows? Costumed characters? (Character Land?) What is the schedule?

8. Other features? Restrooms? Information booths? Policies and restrictions? What else? Don’t forget to think about the Web Search we did in the computer lab when it comes to recreating the time period.

9. What are the park hours? What is your parking situation like? How much does it cost?

10. Also, include a neatly and appropriately designed brochure that you will handout to your patrons as they enter the gates. This needs to include vital information listed in 1-9 and this brochure should have a colored map.

11. For extra credit, you can build the theme park, but it must be all inclusive of everything in the brochure. Depending on how well this is done. You can earn up to 20 extra points on this project! If you decide to do the model, we can discuss reworking the assignment (ex: instead of 3 restaurants and 2 gift shops, maybe you only have 2 restaurants and 1 gift shop.) This will be due at the end of the play!
