None.

6. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Brian Smith thanked Brian Taylor for his years of service and a job well done, as he was no longer available to stand on the committee. Brian went through his report highlighting certain points. Helen mentioned that we should all be playing on astro since we all paid the same tournament levy. People were not in favour of driving far out, just to play on astro, they would rather be close and play on grass.

7. FINANCE

There was no financial report. However Brian thanked Jimmy Shankland for doing the financials. Dutchie Le Roux was not aware that he was appointed as the treasurer.

8. ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS

The committee remain the same with the exception of Brian Taylor who has resigned. Chairman: Brian Smith, Secretary/SAHA liaison: Penny Davidson, Treasurer: Andre Le Roux Tournament Liaison: Helen Mizen, International Tournaments: Greg Darke. Member: Dean Gee

9. 2015 MASTERS TOURNAMENT North West gave a very comprehensive show, of what we could expect in Potchefstroom in 2015 Tournament Dates would be 8 – 10 August 2015.

It was mentioned that all hotel bookings would be handled by one person Shawn Nicholson. Everyone was all right with this as long as there was not a repeat fiasco of the Pietermaritzburg saga. There was assurance that this would not be the case.

As yet there was no indication where the 2016 Tournament would be held. This should be coastal and 2017 inland. Border indicated that they would be interested in hosting the tournament in 2016.

10. OVERSEAS PARTICIPATION

Five teams had taken part in the World Hockey Cup in The Hague. The results were as follows: Men over 40 5th, over 45 7th, over 50 13th and over 55 7th. The Ladies over 40 7th and over 45 2nd. Brian thanked Greg Darke and Debbie Gates for their hard work in putting these teams together. The selection process was queried, but it is very much a case of if you can afford it you can go, as it costs around R40,000 per player. Greg Darke holds the portfolio of Marketing as well as Africa representative on the International Masters Hockey Association committee. The next World Cup will be in Canberra Australia in 2016. We need to build structures to ensure that we become competitive at the International Tournaments and may well have to focus on quality rather than quantity, whilst remembering that it is a huge financial commitment from all the players and support staff. It was suggested that a committee should be formed to drive bookings, kit, transport etc. for all the participants.

11. GENERAL
