Job Description SOAR Schools is a new network of public charter schools serving the Denver Metro area. SOAR @Green Valley Ranch opened its doors to 235 Kindergarten through second grade students in August 2010 and now serves 310 students, K-3. The second SOAR school, SOAR@Oakland opened in Far Northeast Denver in August, 2011. Both schools will soon serve grades K-5.

The Administrative Assistant at SOAR Maintains attendance records; Manages student files and Infinite Campus (the student data system) and runs a variety of data reports; Compile and edit correspondence, including calendars, forms, newsletters; completes data entry and record keeping; Translation of school documents Maintains communication systems between staff, students, parents, and school committees Responsible for student records management – incoming and outgoing requests Assist students/parents with busing questions and needs Responsible for the upkeep of the emergency binder to ensure it is always up to date Provide support health clinic as needed Welcomes parents, children, and guests to the school; answers phones and greets visitors as needed Assist in supervision of students as needed Qualifications  Oral and written fluency in Spanish required;  Must have an Associate degree or equivalent experience;  Knowledge of Denver Public Schools policies and procedures preferred; experience in a school setting required  Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; Self starter  Ability to think critically, solve problems and maintain positive relationships with staff and parents;  Able to manage multi-step projects and deadlines, and problem-solve when challenges arise  Great attention to detail; high degree of accuracy

Hours 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Compensation is competitive; the SOAR Administrative Assistant is eligible to participate in the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA). SOAR is an equal opportunity employer.
