Who should apply to be a Kelowna Intern?

 Past participants of Get Outside BC 2011, 2012, 2013 or 2014 from Kelowna and the surrounding communities.

What does Get Outside BC Kelowna look like this year?

Who: Youth aged 14-18 from Kelowna and the surrounding communities. When: June 15th 2016 – March 31st 2017. Where: Phase 1 will be at TBD. Phase 2-4 will be community based. What: The four phases of the Get Outside BC project are described in the intern role.

NEW FOR 2016: 3 COMMUNITY PROJECTS! Get Outside BC is shifting Phase 1 from hosting one central camp in southern BC, to hosting multiple community camps across BC. In the upcoming year, Get Outside BC will be hosted in Kimberley, Kelowna and Port Alberni with the goal of adding more communities in the following years. This shift will allow the young leaders to develop a stronger connection between them and their local BC parks. Also, we will be able to involve more youth from the community and surrounding area, which will increase their capacity to engage their community getting outside. Not only will this community shift involve more local youth, but will involve more local leaders. This will increase the opportunities for mentorship between Get Outside BC participants and community leaders. Finally, we are hoping that this community summit structure will make Get Outside BC easier to replicate, and a Get Outside movement can sweep across Canada!
