TREES FOR THE SEATTLE MILLENNIUM WOODS LEGACY TREE FUND
Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation and the Seattle Transportation Department will issue MILLENNIUM WOODS LEGACY TREE CERTIFICATES, per sample Attachment #3, to compliant applicants to the Woods Legacy Tree Fund. The certificate will be redeemable for a maximum of $25 for an appropriate tree as indicated on the face of the certificate. Selection of appropriate tree species will be based on a brief interview or site inspection by a Woods Legacy Urban Forester and a recommendation from WSNLA nursery staff. The certificate will be redeemable at any participating WSNLA Nursery from a list provided by the WSNLA Executive Director and edited by phone contact by Woods Legacy Urban Forester Robert Baines.
Woods Legacy Tree Fund will be charged a $2.50 handling fee for each certificate redeemed at the WSNLA nurseries
Recipients will exchange the certificate for the appropriate tree. Any cost over $25.00 will be the responsibility of the recipient.
The recipient is responsible for pick-up of the tree at his or her own expense.
WSNLA will invoice The Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation on a monthly basis and is required to send a summery bill and all white copies of the redeemed WOODS LEGACY TREE CERTIFICATES to The Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation, Senior Urban Forester, 100 Dexter Avenue North, Seattle, Wa 98109. All invoices must be accompanied by a list of all certificates enclosed.

The Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation Urban Forestry Unit is requesting establishment of a WOODS LEGACY TREE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM vendor contract (B contract). The contract is to be issued to the Washington State Nursery & Landscape Association (WSNLA) The distribution of certificates is currently in progress and so this contract requires immediate attention.
WOODS LEGACY TREE CERTIFICATES with a redemption value of up to $25 will be issued by SeaTran and Seattle Parks and Recreation, to compliant applicants toward purchase of one tree at a participating WSNLA Nursery. Trees must be planted within the City of Seattle on either of the following locations and meet the corresponding requirements: Private Property Provide a planting diagram and submit to a brief interview to review the species selection. Only one certificate may be issued per residence. Street Trees Provide a detailed diagram showing location of street, sidewalks, powerlines and planting plan. SeaTran will inspect the site, mark location for tree planting, and issue certificates indicating size category of trees. A maximum of 9 certificates may be issued per site (if space permits), of which only one may be used on private property.
The Certificate may be redeemed only at a Participating WSNLA Nursery from a list that has been provided by WSNLA and is distributed to successful applicants. The recipient will exchange the Certificate at the WSNLA nursery for an appropriate tree. Any cost over $25.00 per tree will be the responsibility of the holder. Only one certificate may be applied to each tree. There will be no change given or amount carried over for trees costing less than $25.00. Pickup and delivery are the customer’s expense.

The certificate is a three-part form:
Pink Copy: Retained by Woods Legacy Tree Fund Urban Foresters when issued. Yellow Copy: Retained by Participating Nurseries. White Copy: Forwarded by participating nursery to WSNLA. WSNLA to forward original to Woods Legacy with invoice(s).
