Hello All,
Today I travelled to Montpelier for a pre-session caucus meeting and was happy to see as I arrived Kevin Dean and Lynn Hattat-Dean with their daughter Amanda who has been selected as a legislative page for part of the coming session. The family was at the state house for page orientation. Congratulations to Amanda! She will be serving for six weeks later this winter. It’s wonderful to have another page from Pownal and I’m looking forward to Amanda being in the state house this winter.
In the last few weeks I’ve received the following announcements about community activities.
SPIRIT OF SHARING from Peter Hopkins, Center St, [email protected]
“Greetings: I hope this note finds you well and that you are enjoying some pretty nice fall weather. I am writing to let you know that I am again, with the wonderful folks at the Pownal Elementary School, helping coordinate Pownal's annual Spirit of Sharing. Over the past several years, your kind generosity and that of your friends and neighbors have helped brighten the holidays for hundreds of Pownal children from families less fortunate than ours. Last year was a tremendous challenge, as the national economy continued to take its toll on our town and our region. As you can imagine, this year is no different. There are a couple of ways to participate. Financial contributions of any amount are always welcome as are volunteers who would like to shop personally for a local youngster. And innovative ideas are always encouraged! Tax-deductible contributions may be made to the Friends of Pownal, Inc., a tax-exempt non-profit corporation created for the betterment of Pownal and its citizens. If you would like to participate, my contact information is below. And please pass along this e-mail to friends and family. Thanks so much for all you continue to do to make Pownal a better place to live, work and play.”
With best regards, Peter Peter Hopkins 472 Center St. Pownal, VT 05261 (802) 823-5405 [email protected] ------
