INFORMATION UPDATES . Intervention for Winter 2014 Probation Students: Results – Lynnae Selberg reviewed the highlights of the report and discussion followed regarding adding a summary of the data in the future. NEXT STEPS: Add a cohort of probation students to the Street-to-Completion groups. . Deans’ Council 2013/2014 Summary – Summary of each Deans’ Council meeting in 2013/2014. NEXT STEPS: If any changes, clarifications, etc., need to be made, contact the Provost’s office. . Results of Deans’ Council Evaluation – Discussion around results of the evaluation of the Deans’ Council meetings. NEXT STEPS: Review/Compare the charter of the Deans’ Council against the results of the evaluation to see where the gaps may be.

*NEXT STEPS: During the July 2014 ProDeans Retreat, the frequency of TLQM reports, non-TLQM annual reports/updates, and gatekeepers of various reports/updates will be reviewed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

John Cowles/Donna Kragt: Summarized the Learners Analytics Summit they attended. We were invited due to the AtD work GRCC has done. Vicki Janowiak: The statue dedication of Helen Jackson Claytor on GRCC’s Olivarez Student Plaza was the largest gathering so far of the six statues of the Grand Rapids Community Legends Project that have been placed around Grand Rapids. Amy Koning: Will be out of the office 8/5-8/19. Because it is just prior to the Fall staring of school, please direct all questions to Nanci Guigue. Raynard Ross: Daniel Sempangi, SS&R Associate Dean’s ESP, is leaving and various departments will be picking up the pre-req responsibilities. Mike Passer: The date of the internet infrastructure update (4-hour window of no internet connection) will be provided at the next Deans’ Council so that it can be added to instructors’ syllabi. The council asked to stay away from 9/13/14 due to the community picnic. Jeremy Osborn: Teaching institutes will be offered in three-hour blocks 8/12-8/14/14. All information about the sessions is on the Center for Teaching Excellence registration page. Donna Kragt: As a show of appreciation for the huge success of the HLC visit in April, Dr. Ender wanted to provide the staff and faculty a celebratory lunch for their hard work (Student Center MPR, 11:30am-1pm, Monday 8/18 and Sneden Hall MPR, 11:30am-1pm, on Wednesday, 8/20).
