New CPPS Leadership Team Elected

The Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O’Fallon, Missouri, at recent General Chapter, held from March 30 – April 9, 2015, elected a new five-member Leadership Team. The new Superior General and her Council will be installed on July, 1, 2016, and will serve a six-year term.

Sister Janice Bader, CPPS Superior General Sister Ginny Jaskiewicz, CPPS General Councilor Sister Joni Belford, CPPS General Councilor Sister Barbara Schlatter, CPPS General Councilor Sister Marie Fennewald, CPPS General Councilor

The newly elected Superior General, Sister Janice Bader entered the congregation from Assumption Parish in in New Haven, Missouri. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of the National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) and has served in that position since 2008. She has worked at the NRRO since 2000 and served as Associate Director of Planning and Education from 2000-2007.

Sister Ginny Jaskiewicz, the newly elected Vice- President of the order, is the Co-director of the Sanguis Christi Spiritual Center. She has been in this ministry for six years and entered the community from St. Agatha Parish in St. Louis.

In addition to serving as a council member, Sister Joni Belford has accepted the role of Secretary General for the order. She entered the community from St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood, Missouri. Sr. Joni is currently a Retreat Coordinator at Mercy Conference and Retreat Center and has worked in that position since October 2014.

Sister Barbara Schlatter entered the Community from Our Lady of Providence Parish in Crestwood. She taught for 30 years at Bishop DuBourg. Since 2006, she has been working in prison ministry, teaching mainly at Potosi Correctional Center. Additionally, for the past year and a half, she has been teaching with Prison Performing Arts at the St. Louis Juvenile Detention Center and tutoring at Judge Jimmie Edwards' Innovative Concept Academy.

Sister Marie Fennewald presently works in the community’s Ecclesiastical Art Department. Prior to that, Sister Marie was a teacher at parish elementary schools. Most recently, she taught at Immaculate Conception School in Macon, Missouri, for 16 years. She entered the community from Martinsburg, Missouri.

The Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O’Fallon form a community that finds its mission in the Church. Rooted in the Eucharist and personal prayer they continue the mission of Jesus by striving to be and to experience Christ’s redeeming presence as they affirm and empower one another and those they serve, especially the poor. In their congregation there are 122 Sisters serving in the United States, Europe and South America.

The outgoing 2010 – 2016 Leadership Team is Superior General, Sister Fran Raia, and General Councilors Sisters Mary Cecile Gunelson, Lucy Meissen, Sandra Barton, and Ellen Orf.
