(Minutes are unofficial until approved by the Board of Education) July 13, 2017 The Board of Education of School District #10 held its regular meeting on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Board members present were: Erin Rathe, Brad Wilkins, Scott Erthum, Jim Arens, Dan Dailey, and Mark Johnson. Members absent: None. Also present were Principals Bill Lentz, Mike Wentz and Superintendent Darrell Peterson. There were a several guests in attendance. The meeting was called to order by Board President, Dan Dailey at 8:00 a.m.

Notice of the meeting was in the Ainsworth Star Journal and on radio station KBRB.

As noted during the meeting a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted on the south wall of the District Office meeting room.

April Finley spoke to the Board about the Substance Abuse/Activity Suspension policy.

Motion was made by Mark Johnson seconded by Jim Arens to approve the following consent agenda items: Minutes of the June meetings, claims in the amount of $163,399.00 from the General Fund and $17,860.69 from the Hot Lunch Fund. Schedule the next regular Board Meeting for August 14, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. in the District Office. The Cash Flow Report for the month of June was given. The Treasurer’s Report was given as follows: Cash Assets: June 30th: $3,565,995.79. Roll call vote: Unanimous. Motion carried.

Superintendent Darrell Peterson reported on the following: Certificate of Accreditation for the NE Dept of Education for the 2017-18 school year, DI Sponsor, Drivers Education and Army Band.

2016-17 Vehicle Transportation Mileage report was reviewed by the Board.

Board Policy AR-1345.1 Building Usage rates was reviewed by the Board.

Motion was made by Scott Erthum and seconded by Mark Johnson to approve Haley, Shelby and Stryker Stanley to attend Rock County Schools for the 2017-18 school year. Roll call vote: Unanimous. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Jim Arens and seconded by Mark Johnson to approve first reading of Policy 3305.2 Procurement Plan-School Food Authorities. Roll call vote: Unanimous. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Jim Arens and seconded by Erin Rathe to approve bid of $9,450 from Travis Electric to replace existing gym lights. Roll call vote: Unanimous. Motion carried.
