Giddings is a quiet, rural community located less than an hour from Austin, Brenham, and College Station. The Police Department offers an excellent salary and benefits package, including a take-home car and all uniform equipment.

Benefits include:  Starting Salary: Currently $37,207.06  12-hr shifts, 84 hours per pay period  Additional Certification pay for TCOLE Int., Adv., and Master Certifications and Longevity.  Take-home car (upon completion of FTO Program)  Tuition reimbursement (1/2 of tuition and books if job-related and approved)  All uniforms (including footwear), equipment, and weapons provided.  Insurance: City pays 100% of employee’s health and life insurance. Dental and vision available. Health/dental/vision also available for spouse/dependents at employee expense.  Retirement: TMRS 7%, 2 to 1 matching, with updated service credits, vesting in 5 years.

Officers MUST live within 30 minutes of the Police Department Applicants must hold a current TCOLE certification at the time of appointment. Other qualifications apply.
