Poole College of Management 2013 Sustainability Grant Program

The PCOM Sustainability Grant Program will provide funding to support research projects for faculty with their primary appointments in the College of Management. This is the initial year of the PCOM Sustainability Grant program. Sustainability has many definitions and interpretations, therefore faculty are encouraged to submit proposals encompassing sustainability from their own specific areas of specialty or interest. This broad definition of sustainability provides many opportunities for research. Some areas of interest may include:

a. Improving accounting measures to include full cost of production b. Managing risks to enhance the sustainability of businesses and organizations c. Individual, firm, and government investment policies concerning sustainability practices d. Economic growth and the environment e. Environmental policies and practices f. Production methods and recognition of externalities and the full cost of production g. Well-being of future generations considering the environment, real income, health status h. Responsible management practices and ethical decision making i. Measuring and reporting impacts of environmental, social and governance issues j. Impact of sustainability-related issues on strategy, business decisions, ethics, management practices, and marketing
