Deadlines & Grade Tracker

Here is a list of deadlines set for term papers in Mrs. Spence’s English 3 CP class. Detailed descriptions of what each activity entails can be found in the packet. It is important to note that grades earned for the term paper process will make up the majority of each student’s third marking period grade. The process is worth equally as much as the final paper – process leading up to paper: 200 pts. / final paper: 200.

 3-Ring Binder/Folder – 1/13 ______/ 5

 Parent Contract – 1/13 ______/ 5 NOTE: *1/17 is the last day to change topics! No exceptions

 1 Printed Database Article – 1/15 ______/ 5

 Research Round 1: 3 Notesheets – 1/27 ______/ 24 You must have 3 notesheets completed in the appropriate format. There should be a total of between 8 and 12 facts between all 3 sources. No more, no less.

 Preliminary Outline (appropriate format) – 1/29 ______/ 12 We will be working on this in class on 1/28.

 Preliminary Thesis (appropriate format) – 1/29 ______/ 8 We will be working on this in class on 1/28.

 Research Round 2: 5 Noteheets & Bibliography – 2/4 ______/ 45 You must have at least 5 notesheets completed in appropriate format (3 edited original ones from the first round and 2 new ones). There should be a total of between 15 and 20 facts between all 5 sources… no more, no less. (30pts,). You must also submit a separate bibliography page in appropriate format. (15pts.)

 Final Thesis (appropriate format) – 2/13 ______/ 10 Your preliminary thesis must be attached to your final thesis when submitting.

 Final Outline (appropriate format) – 2/13 ______/ 45 You must have your research/notes inserted and organized under the appropriate subheadings you created in from your prelim outline. Correct quotation marks and citations are required. It must be TYPED and double-spaced. We will have 2 in-class days to type – 2/10 & 2/11

 Rough Draft & Turnitin Submission – 2/28 ______/ 30 You should have at least 4 pages of writing in correct format and a correctly formatted bibliography page. You must submitted one copy to Mrs. Spence AND submit your paper to Turnitin.com. We will have 2 in-class days to type – 2/24 & 2/25.

 *FINAL DRAFT (including packet requirements) – 3/5 ______/ 200 Details on the packet requirements will be given in class and are listed in your packet on the rubric.
