Dear Parent/Guardian:

In preparation for the June, 2015 Common Core Algebra 1 Regents Examination, I am offering “Regents Prep Hours” beginning Monday, April 13, 2015. Participating students are asked to complete a total of 15 Regents Prep Hours by Thursday, June 11, 2015. I have scheduled approximately 75 hours – before school, after school and on Saturdays. Please see the back of this letter for the full schedule.

Students who complete (at least) a total of 5 Regents Prep Hours by April 28 th AND (at least) a total of 10 Regents Prep Hours by May 20 th will have the opportunity to use their completed Regents Prep Hours as their 4th Quarter Portfolio grade.

Students who do not complete (at least) a total of 5 Regents Prep Hours by April 28 th AND (at least) a total of 10 Regents Prep Hours by May 20 th WILL be required to complete the assigned 4th Quarter Portfolio. However, they are more than welcome to attend Regents Prep Hours in addition to completing the 4th Quarter Portfolio.
