FOR SUPPLY OF FURNITURE HOSTEL ROOMS
17 July 2014 The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering Sciences and Technology, located at Topi, District Swabi is a seat of excellence in higher engineering education and research. The Institute intends to purchase the furniture items for new construction hostel rooms. Terms and condition for the tender are:
1. Specification and drawings of items: Specification of each item with drawings are given in detail at annexure –A with the tender documents.
2. Date for submission of the quotation: Bids in sealed envelopes, on prescribed tender documents should be reached the Procurement Department, GIK Institute Topi before 11:30 am on 24 July 2014 and write our inquiry No. GIKI/PO/F&F-515/14 on the top of the envelope. Open bids will not be accepted.
3. Tender opening date: Tenders will be opened in the presence of bidders at 12:00PM on 24 July 2014 in the Conference Room of H. U. Beg Administration Block, GIK Institute, Topi-23640, District Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
4. Detail of items: Detail of the items, for which rates are required are given at annexure-A. Please quote unit price for each item on FOR Topi basis, inclusive of all taxes, transportation, loading/unloading and fixing/installation.
5. Validity of the price: Bids should remain valid for six months from the submission date of bids.
6. Bid Security: You are required to enclose the call deposit of Rs.10,000 (refundable) through demand draft/pay order payable on account of GIK Institute, Topi with your bids document.
7. Mode of Payment: Payment of bill (s) will be made on submission of your bill in duplicate through crossed cheque in the name of supplier/firm/company within two weeks after acceptance of the materials subject to deduction of income tax as per law.
8. Delivery period: Furniture should be supplied before 18 August 2014.
9. Penalty clause: If you fail to supply the material in the above specified period, GIK Institute reserves the right to blacklist you for future business or forfeit the security money of 0.32% per day of the contact value or may impose any other financial penalty as deemed fit.
10. Please sign and stamp each page of the tender/bids document, otherwise, it will not be considered/accepted.
12. Bidders having minimum 3 years experience of supply of furniture items to the reputable organization/ institute/company etc are must. 13. Incomplete forms will not be acceptable and will not be considered in any case, and will be rejected.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. Specification of wood, chipboard, vin-board laminated board (HPM and design as shown in drawings shall be strictly followed and any deviation from this lead to rejection;
2. Chipboard, shesham, vinboard wherever required specified shall be of best quality (700 D);
2. Shesham wood shall be used of best quality, which shall be well seasoned, free from sap, radial cracks, Cup shake, loose or dead knots;
3. Approved quality fabric shall be used; 4. Fancy (Imported) Hard ware accessories shall be used subject to approval of the Institute;
5. First quality Foam (Master Molty /Supreme Diamond) shall be used in all Chairs, Sofa sets etc;
6. Imported Channel System shall be provided for the smooth running of drawers;
7. Internal Hard wood frame should be used sattees, chairs and sofa sets etc shall be treated with anti termite before cushioning. Rubber webbing and Hasian cloth shall be of best quality;
8. Ever-good drawer lock A/B color (Taiwan) and wheel casters approved quality (Imported) Taiwan shall be used;
9. Laminated board HPM and Formica shall be used of (FORMITE) where specified;
10. All Furniture items shall be inspected before finishing and if required sample may be provided at site. The cost of alteration/modification in samples shall be born by the Contractor.
11. Contractor shall make arrangement for the delivery of furniture at site. No extra payment shall be made on account of carriage.
12. Contractor shall be responsible for replacement of any defective furniture items within one year, after the receipt of supply.
13. Polish/Lacquer to be made under the Instruction of the Institute.
