During lab sessions, attendees will have ample time to practice Assessment Tests approved for the enhancement of their Kinesio Taping® skills and muscle applications for both the upper and lower body. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to discuss and apply the Kinesio Taping® Method to relax overuse syndromes, stimulate weak muscles, and decrease pain and swelling.

KT2: Advanced Concepts and Corrective Techniques of the Kinesio Taping® Method (To be taken in conjunction with KINESIO UNIVERSITY approved KT1 course - prerequisite is completion of KT1 course) The KT2 course builds on material learned in KT1. During this eight-hour class, the instructor will introduce the six Corrective Techniques (Mechanical, Functional, Space, Fascia, Ligament/Tendon, and Lymphatic) and discuss their application in a variety of clinical conditions. During lab sessions, attendees will have ample time to practice applying these techniques to a variety of upper and lower body conditions. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to discuss and apply the Kinesio Taping® Method to orthopedic and neurological conditions.

KT3: Clinical Concepts and Advanced Whole Body Applications of the Kinesio Taping® Method (Prerequisite, completion of KINESIO UNIVERSITY approved KT1 and KT2 courses) The KT3 course combines the Kinesio Taping Method foundational concepts of KT1&KT2 with advanced clinical concepts. The course provides lab time for attendees to practice their skills on the new concepts through a variety of clinical applications. The KT3 course is designed to allow the Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor (CKTI) to cater specific clinical applications to address specific professions. Note: Students can request to take the exam but will not be eligible to receive a CKTP certificate until they graduate.

*New Class: “Cognitive Processing”, “Verbal/Auditory Performance”, and “Swallowing Progression” with elastic therapeutic tape. (Prerequisite, completion of KTA approved KT1, KT2 and KT3 courses) This is being considered as a future Kinesio Specialty (KT4) class and is not a standardized Kinesio specialty class at this point in time. This is a multidisciplinary class, however ASHA CEU’s are only awarded for this class. “Cognitive Processing”, “Verbal/Auditory Performance”, and “Swallowing Progression” with Elastic Therapeutic Tape is a specialty that course builds on expanded techniques learned from prior elastic therapeutic taping coursework taught from the standardized Kinesio Taping courses (KT1-KT3). This specialty course addresses the rationale for jaw symmetry, postural balance and “upregulation strategies” and their interplay on areas associated with “cognition processing”, “verbal/auditory performance”, “sensory registration/sensory regulation”, and “swallowing progression”. Elastic therapeutic taping strategies for adults/pediatrics, and “fragile populations”, focusing on the “minimal effective dose”, are presented. Participants will gain experience using the “Angles’n’Gridz®” app to describe quantitative data of a picture impression. Neurological features associated with dermatomes, myotomes, and sclerotomes will be discussed. Guided practice and case study material will be provided prior to direct instruction of the class.

**For SLP participants:  Sun Seminars is the only partner-hosted venue offering CEU’s for SLP/SLPA’s who take KT1-KT3.  All SLP/SLPA participants must register for a KT1-KT3 block session listed (per ASHA bylaws). All other disciplines may pursue KT3/CKTP status at their discretion.  SLP/SLPA’s will need to comply with both ASHA guidelines (e.g., Pre/post tests before and after KT1-KT3, timely return of pre/post-tests and any other requests), as well as Kinesio® University protocol (e.g., Demonstrating of KT1-KT3 concepts, theories, standardized taping strategies, phone or Skype
