Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas Accepting Applications for Grant Funding from Local Non-Profits

From February 1 – April 1, 2011, Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas will conduct a grant application process to distribute funding provided from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development for the Southeast Texas region. The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is funded by an annual collection taken up in churches throughout the United States designed to assist local charities advocating for institutional and legislative changes that advance opportunities for the poor.

Typical grants awarded range from $500 - $1,000. Applicants must be non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations operating within any of the following counties: Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, Polk, and Tyler. Applicants do not need any affiliation with the Catholic Church to qualify, but must not be engaged in supporting or endorsing activities contrary to Catholic moral principles.

More information about the grant process and grant applications are available via the Catholic Charities website, www.catholiccharitiesbmt.org.
