IF 150 scouts show up- Friday is free Sat. 50% off IF 200 scouts show up- Friday & Saturday night are free for scout troops!! Registration is Required! (so we can get enough food) Registration Deadline: NOON March 21st For more information Call Sue (405) 319-8382 or Email [email protected] More details follow Do you have website with complete event and registration information? www.quartzmountain.org click on upcoming events button on top menu bar; scroll down to Trash Off; click link

Where are you located? Southwestern Oklahoma: 17 miles north of Altus, Oklahoma....approximately 1 hr north of Vernon, TX

How would troops register? Registration is as simple as sending me an email detailing: troop number; town/state age range of scouts number of scouts that plan on participating number of adults that plan on participating via email; [email protected] or call (405) 319-8382 and ask for Sue

What is the fee if a troop wanted to weekend camp? IF we get 200 scouts (& family) to volunteer then camping is FREE; (we have 60 registered already) otherwise it will be $4/tent/night for 4 people in a tent or ballpark figure $1/person/night (since Trash Off counts as a service project)

What kind of accommodations? Cabins with beds? Tent camping? Water source at camp sites? Most troops are tent camping in the River Road tent area; water faucets are scattered throughout the area; several tent sites share a water faucet; some sites have in-ground campfire rings others have upright grills. Campfires may be banned if we're in a "Fire Ban" --hopefully by the end of March, the spring rains have removed the fire threat. Some troops have inquired about lodge or cabin availability. The cabins are run by Interstate Hotels. They DID have availability on the night of March 28th. Cabin rental is approximately $105.00 plus tax (cabins are 2 bedroom; CH/AC; kitchenettes; full bath; they easily sleep 6 adults with 1 bedroom having 2 twin beds, the other has a double and there is a queen size murphy bed that folds down in the living area; the cabins also have working fireplaces; I do not believe they have any kitchen supplies like pots/pans, etc). Call (580) 563-2424 for more information & reservations.

Do you provide trash bags, bottled water, snacks? (so we could tell troops what to take with them) trash bags will be provided; as will lunch (which is why folks have to pre-register so we know how much to get); no snacks or bottled water to be provided; throughout the park are LOTS of water hydrants; we are on a reverse- osmosis water system (so the water tastes good now! Not like the "gyp" water that comes out of local wells. For more information Call Sue (405) 319-8382 or Email [email protected]
