CertainTeed’s Jackson, Michigan, Siding Facility Reaches Major Safety Milestone

(Valley Forge, Pennsylvania) – Employees at CertainTeed Corporation’s Jackson, Michigan, vinyl siding and composite decking manufacturing facility have reached a major safety milestone by working two-million hours without a lost-time accident.

A lost-time accident is considered to be any workplace injury that prevents a worker from coming to work for his/her next scheduled shift.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for us,” says Rick Holt, Plant Manager. Holt attributes the safety achievement to employee focus and dedication. “The employees’ commitment to safety is the number one reason we have reached this safety milestone.”

The safety milestone comes on the heels of the plant’s recognition by its parent company, Saint- Gobain Corporation and its annual North American Health and Safety Awards. The Jackson plant received exceptional marks in this contest earning the Gold award (top honors) in the large plant category.
