Sir,

On the basis of Commission Regulation (EC) No 616/2007 of 4 June 2007, published in the Official Journal of the European Union L 142 of 5 June 2007, an import tariff quota for poultry meat originating in Thailand has been opened.

Article 8 (1) of that Regulation lays down that use of the tariff quota is subject to presentation of a certificate of origin issued by the competent authorities of Thailand in accordance with Articles 55 to 65 of Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 of 2 July 1993 laying down provisions for the implementation of the Community Customs Code. Articles 55 to 65 provide, in particular, for administrative cooperation between the Community and the authorities of the third country for which the tariff quota has been opened. To that end, the Thailand authorities have sent the Commission:

 the names and addresses of the Thailand issuing authorities for certificates of origin together with specimens of the stamps used by those authorities,  the names and addresses of the Thailand government authorities responsible for receiving and carrying out post-clearance checks of those certificates of origin. Please find enclosed a copy of that information, which I should be grateful if you would forward to the Netherlands competent authorities responsible for implementing the administrative cooperation referred to in Articles 63 to 65 of Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93.
