Enrollment Specialist Job Overview

The Enrollment Specialist is a capacity-building position during a critical time of organizational growth. Herron High School is preparing to open a second high school campus in Indianapolis in fall 2017 and will be creating a network organization to operate the two schools as part of the expansion. The Enrollment Specialist will work alongside the Directors of Enrollment to recruit and enroll students for both Herron High School and Riverside High School. . The goals of this capacity-building position are:

 Create enrollment informational materials

 Attend neighborhood and community meetings to share enrollment information with families

 Identify neighborhood and community groups that engage families from our target populations in the neighborhoods surrounding the new school

 Develop relationships with key neighborhood stakeholders for student recruitment

Primary tasks and duties to accomplish project goals include, but are not limited to:

 Assist the Directors of Enrollment to develop and implement a system to engage the community to recruit prospective students for multiple campuses who have a passion for the urban environment, honor education and are committed to academic rigor and college attendance  Make informal and formal presentations to community partners to educate them on the mission of Herron High School and Riverside High School  Plan and execute recruitment events for both campuses  Assist with the development of promotional materials and advertising strategies  Develop and implement a system to gather and report appropriate data to ensure enrollment goals will be met for both campuses  An expectation of professional and ethical conduct throughout the project  Collaboratively work with the administration and others to support the policies, guidelines, and working procedures for Herron High School

Herron High School is not affiliated with the Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI Qualifications  Exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities  Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team  Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills  Experience working in deadline-driven environments  Excellent verbal and written communication skills  Proficient with Microsoft Office products  Able to work nights and weekends on occasion.  Bachelor’s Degree is required  Experience in community relations, communications, nonprofits, and/or education is preferred
