RATIONALE FOR THE COURSE: Allows the student to practice with the use and process of electrical current; with regard to skin care products and their role in facial treatments and hair removal.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a study of electrical currents as they relate to hair removal services. Emphasis is placed on the types of electrical currents associated with varying equipment. Topics also include proper procedures, safety measures, and sanitation practice.

PREREQUISITES: SAT, ACT, COMPASS Scores

CO-REQUISITES: Credit level COS 151 and Credit level COS 152 and Credit level COS 156 Credit level COS 158 Credit level COS 164 Credit level COS 221.

Grades earned in courses impact academic progression and financial aid status. Ds, Fs, Ws, WFs and Is also negatively impact academic progression and financial aid status.

The Add/Drop Period is the first 5 days of the semester for full term classes. Add/Drop periods are shorter for accelerated format courses. The following week of the semester is Financial Aid Attendance Verification period. You must attend at least one meeting of all of your classes during that period. If you do not, you will be dropped from the course(s) and your Financial Aid will be reduced accordingly.

Program Grading Policy:

Your grade for this course will be determined solely on the basis of the criteria outlined in this syllabus. Students will not be allowed to substitute other activities (reports, homework, etc.) to count in place of any of the stated criteria. (This means there will be NO extra credit offered.) Also, since the tests/exams given in this course are designed to measure the extent to which you have mastered course materials, students should not expect there to be any “curving” of grades.
