Previous Appointments 01/06/07 -01/03/07 Worked as assistant professor in stroke unit in National institute of mental health and neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore- a premier neuroscience institute in south East Asia. 02/03/05-02/03/06 Fellowship in interventional neurology and stroke in a tertiary care center in India.
01/01/2005-01/03/2005 Worked as research associate in a stroke project by Indian council of medical research (ICMR).
01//01/02 - 31/12/04 Specialist Registrar emergency duties, Neuro ICU and stroke ICU, neurology ward duties along with teaching responsibilities in SG Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow, India as a part of DM degree (a three year post doctoral specialty degree course). During this period 6 months posting in neuroradiology, neuropathology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry with certificate courses in the same. During the same tenure certification courses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, computer application in medical sciences, medical statistics including SPSS, PASS and other software in medicine were learnt. Each course lasted for 15 days to 1 month. During this many research projects were undertaken most of the work is either published in International indexed journal or due for publication (List enclosed later). This 3-year period compiled the DM in Neurology.
01/12/2000 – 01/12/2001 Specialist Registrar emergency duties, Neuro ICU and stroke ICU, neurology ward duties along with teaching responsibilities in SG Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow, India in Non DM period as part of residency before being enrolled in DM programme.
01/06/1997 - 30/11/2000 Registrar in Medicine department in MD (a 3 year post graduate degree course in medicine) dealing in emergency duties, General ICU, and ward duties in general medicine, neurology, cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, geriatric medicine and psychiatry along with teaching responsibilities in RNT, Medical college, Udaipur, University of Rajasthan.

National institute of mental health and neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore NIMHANS is a multidisciplinary institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the frontier area of mental health and neuroscience. It has state of art diagnostic and therapeutic facilities in neurological disorders. It has more than 25 departments in neurosciences with maximal number of projects and publications in the country. It acts as a nodal centre for providing training facilities and knowledge in the field of neurosciences to all developing countries by institutional and distance learning. In field of stroke it has state of art stroke unit with all relevant facilities including neurogenetic and cath lab.
02/03/05-02/03/06 Fellowship in interventional neurology and stroke in department of neuroendovascular therapy, SGRH, New Delhi. Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is a 650-bed multi-specialty state of the art hospital in Delhi. It provides comprehensive health care service and over the past 48 years has acquired the status of a premier medical institution. It has all the specialty and super specialty departments like cardiac surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, department of cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology apart from medicine, surgery, gynae and obstetrics and pediatrics etc., apart from very well equipped genetics, biochemistry, hematology, pathology laboratories. It is also a teaching and training institution offering DNB (Diplomat of National Board) courses in most of the subjects. The Department of Neurosciences has a competent team of neurologist, neurosurgeon, with a excellent neurophysiology lab conducting EEG, NCV and EMG with single fiber EMG, RNS in addition to sleep studies. It has a state of art OT complex along with a well equipped cath lab for carrying out interventional procedure for intraarterial thrombolysis, intra and extra/intracranial angioplasty and stenting, aneurysm coiling, AVM embolisation on elective and emergency basis. The department serves as a referral center where physicians from all over the country and from whole of south East Asia seek diagnostic expertise and it places a high premium on the quality of service it provides.

Its catchments area is 2 of the biggest states in India UP and Bihar, and Nepal (neighboring nation). It provides specialty degree in many subjects some of these courses are not present elsewhere in India. This institute publishes maximum number of international publication among medical institute of India; it is regarded as high output, high impact center. It is most high tech, fully computerized with hospital information system. This center has WHO center for polio eradication for the northern zone of India. It is my alma mater for the learning of neurology in particular and medical profession in general. I learnt here treating and dealing with the patients apart from being learning neurosciences as a subject. Collaboration across various departments helped me to expand my knowledge across the subjects. I also learnt research methodology and use of computer and medical statistics to have clarity of raw data and arrival to firm unbiased results.
