Guide Notes 1. The Principal may only object to the appointment of a proposed Subcontractor when reasonable grounds exist, eg: o a record of unsatisfactory technical performance; Contract management - GC21 Ed 2 Sample letter 29B

o the proposed Subcontractor is not a Preferred Subcontractor for a trade or area of work where the Principal has provided a list of Preferred Subcontractors (see Contract Information item 31); o a breach, or an alleged breach, of the Code of Practice for Procurement; or o insolvency. 2. The Contractor is obliged to find an alternative if the Principal’s grounds for objection are reasonable.
