In recent years, the Village of Hinsdale has been having difficulty maintaining the plant-life, particularly the grass, near streets and parking lots. Our experts in the public services department think the problem might be due to our deicing of these areas with rock salt during the winter months. The village board of trustees would like to ask your honors biology classes to do the horticultural analysis.

Please conduct the proper tests to determine the correct percentage of rock salt that can be used for deicing purposes, which still allows for optimal grass growth.
