Staff Flu Vaccinations The seasonal flu vaccination campaign will launch at the start of October. As part of the campaign we are looking for volunteers to assist in giving staff their free, seasonal flu jab at staff flu clinics across NHS Lothian.

As a responsible workforce it is important that as many staff as possible are protected, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and patients. A vaccination is the best way to help protect against this potentially serious but preventable disease.The more volunteers we have, the more we will be able to provide accessible clinics on site including in ward areas for staff.

More details and videos from the last meeting are available on the intranet. Home Electronics Scheme The home electronic salary sacrifice scheme will launch on Monday 28 September 2015.

The scheme, in partnership with Currys PC World has been designed to offer staff access to a range of home electronic equipment such as tablets, computers, cameras, televisions and a range of white goods including dishwashers, fridge freezers and washing machines.

Trakcare Paper Lite Programme Clerking The implementation group has agreed that electronic clerking and inpatient progress notes will go live in the following wards on Monday 5 October: Stroke Unit, 8, 9, 14, 21, MAU/PAA, 25, Tippethill and St Michaels.

Training is underway and the project team will be available to support staff over the go-live period.

This option has been made available to all staff on the SJH consultants and SJH anaesthetists email lists in the first instance. If this goes well, it will be made more widely available to other clinical staff. If you wish to use the standard desktop with full functionality then you should continue to select the ‘production’ desktop as usual – you can swap between these desktops during the day as required.
