2015 Unami Football Team Rules The following team rules have been set in place to provide a successful learning experience throughout the upcoming football season.

 All football players are students first and athletes second. Each member of the team must remain academically eligible in order to remain an active member of the team. Failure to maintain academic eligibility will result in a suspension from the team until such a time that the grades have improved.

 Each member of the team has the responsibility of being a good citizen at all times. This includes periods of time that are not during the normal school day. Remember, the actions of each member of this team reflect (either positively or negatively) on the entire team. Failure to be a good citizen will result in penalties that will be decided by the head coach and the Administration of Unami.

 Players must be picked up by 5:00 PM each day after practice. If a player is not picked up by 5:00 PM, then they will be subject to suspension from the team. Multiple infractions of this rule can result in dismissal from the team.

 It is the player’s responsibility to work extremely hard during each practice. A player’s effort during practice and in game situations affects the amount of playing time they will receive during a game.

 All players are expected to attend each practice. Unexpected absences will result in suspension from the team. The head coach will decide the length of the suspension. For ALL excused absences you must notify a coach in the building why you are unable to attend practice. o Receiving extra help with academics is an excused absence, but we ask that students try to schedule tutoring sessions before school or during resource. o Doctor and dentist appointments are excused absences, but we ask that students try to schedule these appointments at times not conflicting with either school or practice. o Family emergencies are excused absences. o All other reasons for missing practice are considered unexcused absences, unless they are approved by a coach.

 The equipment issued to you at the beginning of the season is your responsibility. We expect that all players will respect their equipment and the equipment of others. Any equipment that is lost must be replaced and paid for in a timely manner. You cannot practice without equipment.

When a student chooses to join the Unami football team they make a commitment to each of their teammates to prepare themselves academically, to be a good citizen, to work as hard as they can during each practice, and to respect all of their teammates, managers, and coaches. Please honor this commitment!
