What is striking about the new chair is its organic design and flowing lines. The renowned designer Martin Ballendat focused on the backrest in particular: "My aim was to design a very economical yet ergonomic fully-functional chair. We designed the backrest so as to allow a non-upholstered membrane backrest and a mesh backrest."

Regardless of the choice of upholstery, the backrest consists of a supporting plastic shell with a vertical slatted structure. It allows an active yet relaxed seated posture as well as improved breathability.
