Concert Publicity

1) If you need additional posters, glossy photos, promotional DVD or CD's to be used by local radio stations for promotional use, please contact our office at 260-625- 5324. King’s Brass members are available for taped or “on air” interviews. 2) Please encourage your local Christian bookstore to display the poster and to carry The King’s Brass recordings in their store. Bookstores are often willing to put concert announcements into shopping bags. They can order our recordings from Chandler Music – www.chandlermusic.com at 800-445-6874 or Summit Records – www.summitrecords.com at 800-543-5156. 3) We have a web site at www.kingsbrass.org. You are welcome to link your church’s web page to our site and to download any pictures you might need. The King’s Brass photos under the “Promotional Materials” section have been loaded in at 300 dpi (8x10) so they are print ready. The information in this E-mail is also repeated on our web site under the “Promotional Materials” section (left hand column). The Light & Sound Program as well as the Print Program will be revised throughout the Christmas Tour. There is a bulletin insert as well as a program that can be downloaded to assist in your publicity efforts.

Concert Preparation

1) To assure a high quality of performance, we would request that the piano be tuned to A-440 (see statement in concert information letter). 2) Please clear the platform as much as possible. 3) Please have your sound and lighting tech. staff review the attached LIGHTING & SOUND PROGRAM guidelines. For auditoriums of more than 1000 seats, please see Outdoor Concert information sheet. For auditoriums under 1000 seats we will need: - Two XLR lines to the house sound system, one for keyboards and one for the speaking microphone. -We prefer to use our own speaking microphone and will require a line to plug it in. For consistency from performance to performance, we prefer not to use a wireless speaking microphone. -No monitors or additional microphones are required. -Please have sound / light techs meet us at the church upon arrival. 4) Please note the carols to be used with the congregational singing. Please print the enclosed song sheet separately or in your program/bulletin to be handed out at the concert or display on PowerPoint screens. We will use these songs in our program and ask that they not be used as an opening carol before The King’s Brass plays. 5) If you are planning on having The King’s Brass join your choir, please send music to the address below so the group can be well prepared. If you are planning on performing the Rutter – Gloria or the Willcocks-Carols, there is no need to send music for either of these compositions. 6) Four of the numbers we will be playing can be performed with extra brass players. If one or more of your brass players would like to join us, please order the following pieces from Chandler Music – www.chandlermusic.com at 800-445-6874: 1. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing – KB 40035…Arr. Tim Zimmerman 2. Angels We Have Heard On High - KB 40015… Arr. Tim Zimmerman 3. Joy To The World II - KB 40030… Arr. Tim Zimmerman 4. O Come All Ye Faithful - KB 04011…Arr. Dan Marvin (measure 54 to end of piece). Audio files for the above four pieces are also posted on our web site. Please contact the King’s Brass office and inform us of the extra brass players who will be joining us for the concert. All the parts will be doubled by members of the King’s Brass, so we can use one or more players. We do not need to have all the parts covered by the community ensemble to perform these pieces. On the other hand, for this effort to be a success, we will need for all the parts to be well rehearsed. We will not have time to teach the notes, so please make sure all the parts are played “in tune and in time” before we arrive. We will need to meet with the ensemble one hour before the doors open to the performing auditorium (usually at 5:30pm for 7:00pm concerts). Please have all the community brass players wear all black. If the extra brass players are not able to prepare all four pieces, then choose the first piece, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. If the brass is able to join us on two pieces, then chose Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Angels We Have Heard On High. If three … etc. We will need to have stands for the extra brass members on the platform and the same number at the back of the auditorium (or balcony if available). If house lights will be dimmed, we suggest that stand lights be placed on stands in the back. Please give each community brass player a copy of the “Lighting & Sound Program” so they will know when they play in the program. Please pray that God would use the Christmas Concert to touch the hearts of men, women & children in your community. We are very convinced that no eternal work for God will be accomplished unless God's hand moves the lives of people. We look forward to visiting your community. If we can be of any further assistance, please call Tim Zimmerman at 260-625-5324 or send an e-mail at [email protected].

Sincerely, Tim Zimmerman Director, THE KING'S BRASS
