Manchester Terror Attack
Today, we held a one minute silence to remember the people who were involved in the terror attack in Manchester. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
We are very aware that some children will have fears and questions about the terrible events and staff have spoken to the children, as we are sure that you will have done at home. We have received several e mails from various agencies – the local authority, the police etc. who have provided links, and two in particular may be useful to parents when speaking to their children. This is the Childline link which can be found on https://www.childline.org.uk/info-advice/your-feelings/anxiety-stress- panic/worries-about-the-world/ and the NSPCC link https://www.nspcc.org.uk/what-we-do/news- opinion/supporting-children-worried-about-terrorism/

Our next sporting activity is on June 8th when we hope to send a Year 3 /4 team to Horbury for the pyramid athletics event. Fish and Chip Tea
Year 2 had a wonderful time yesterday afternoon when they had a play session followed by a fish and chip tea as their reward for working so well during their assessments recently.
Many thanks to Mrs Firth and Mrs Grindle for staying and organising it and Mrs Firth for her contribution towards the tea.
Last minute reminders
Please have photograph orders in by 9th June.
We would appreciate parents of Year 1 / 2 children returning their Oakwell Hall permission slips as soon as possible to avoid further reminders.
Attached to this newsletter is our calendar for next year.
And finally …………
A gift card has been found on the school field. If you have lost one please see Mrs Brearton or Mrs Baker in the school office.
We do of course finish tomorrow for the half term holiday. Our Lego and Multisports clubs will run as usual tomorrow. We return to school on Tuesday 6th June. Have a wonderful break – let`s hope this sunshine lasts!
