NOTTS DERBY AREA SOC MEETING TIMES & DIRECTIONS FORTHCOMMING EVENTS

Sun 13th April Thrumpton Hall

From M1-J24 take the A453 to Nottingham past Ratcliff Power Station and then take first left S.P. Thrumpton. At T junction turn left, after approximately 500 yds. We will meet in lay-by, before phone box to leave at 9.00am. We have to be in and set up by 0930am

Sun 27th April Long Eaton Cars & Steam

Meet at the Eaton Farm Pub car park (next to the M1 Motorway) at the island between Derby Road A6005 & Wilsthorpe Road B6002 to leave at 9.30am. The show ground is only a few minutes away off Wilsthorpe Road. Opens to the public at 10.00am.

Sat 3rd May Frank and Judi Garden Party

Meet at the Fradley Arms pub car park on the A38 to leave at 01.30pm and arrive at Frank and Judi house for 2.00pm.

For those who wish to go it alone the directions to Frank & Judi’s are as follows.

From the A38 southbound, exit to Lichfield (just past the boat yard on the left). Follow the road through Streethay to Trent Valley (Station on the left and the Trent Valley Pub on the right). At roundabout turn right (last exit) onto Eastern Avenue. Follow this for about 3 miles until you see a T junction with traffic lights. Just before the Major junction turn left into Stratford Road. Follow down hill straight on at the mini roundabout (Morrisons on the right). Up hill past the Feathers Pub and Beacon Street Garage on the left. At the next junction (Little Barrow Hotel) Turn left into Anson Avenue. Follow this to a mini roundabout and turn right into Beecroft. Follow road to the first T junction on the left and turn into Vale Close House No 2. WS13 7LJ

Meet on the A38 Little Chef situated just before the turn off to Walton Village to leave at 9.15am to get to the show for 9.30am. Opens to the public at 10.00am.

Mon 5th May Steam & Country Show Stanford Hall

Meet at Kegworth market place to leave for 9.00 Stanford hall is on the A6006 just before Rempstone. Opens to the public at 10.00am.

Mon 5th May Thorsby Park Classic Car Show

No agreed meeting place. The venue is situated on the A614 between the Ollerton Roundabout & the A1 roundabout at the A57 / Clumber Park and the show is open to the public from 10.00am t0 4.00pm

Meet at the McDonalds car park at the junction between the A511 / M42 J13 island, to leave for 08.30am. Malloy Park is located off the A447 road towards Hinckley, turn off left to Kirkby Mallory. Post code LE9 7QE We need to be in the circuit before 9.30am.

No specific meeting place, arrive at showground for 9.30am. Opens to the public at 10.00am.

Sun 1st June Nottingham Autokarna

Meet at The Admiral Rodney car park at the junction between Bramcote Lane and Wollaton Road to leave for 9.00am. Directions from the A52 into Nottingham. A52 / A514 ring road turn left. At the T junction bear left onto the A609 Wollaton road. Stay in the left hand lane and bear left remaining on Wollaton road. Go past the entrance to the show round the sharp bend at the bottom and The Admiral Rodney is on the left.

Sun 15th June Trentham Transport Festival

Meet at the McDonalds car park at the junction between the A50 / B5030, near Uttoxeter, to leave at 08.15am.

Sun 22nd June Leicestershire Run & BBQ Elaine & Paul Smart

Meet at Castle Square Melbourne to leave for the run at 12.15pm. To arrive at Elaine & Pauls House at 1.30pm approx. Directions to castle square are as follows. Approach from East Midlands Airport on the A453 turn right at Isley Walton past Donnington park racing circuit on the right continue on to Melbourne. Enter the village past The Paddock public house on the left you are now on Station Road. On the approach to a triangle junction on the left turn immediately left onto Castle Street. Continue on past the fire station on the left and the road opens up into Castle Square.

Sat 12th July Horse & Jockey Nr Lichfield

This is a charity event St Giles Hospice 11.00am to 3.00pm. Interesting cars & vehicles, Bric- a-brac stall, Raffle and Good Food. BBQ is outside but you will need to book lunch in the pub if required in advance. To reserve your tables for lunch at the Jockey tel: 01543 262924 Directions: A38 past Alrewas & Fradley, turn off the A38 at Streethay left onto A5127 and go under the A38, this is Burton Road which leads onto Trent Valley Road. At the first island turn left onto A5192 Cappers Lane. Under the railway bridge next island turn right onto Ryknild Street, past the CO-OP continue to the end of the road. At the traffic lights ‘T’ junction turn left onto the A51 Tamworth Road, continue over the A38 bridge & the Horse & Jockey is on the left. If you are not sure we are proposing to meet at the Fradley Arms on the A38 to leave for 10.45 am.

Sun 13th July Bletchley Park Cars & Bikes Picnic

Meet at BR Station Car park opposite the entrance to Bletchley Park MK3 6EB to leave at 10.00am, the park opens to the public at 10.30am. (Distance approx 80 miles from J24 M1) Directions from M1 J14 are as follows. Leave the M1 J14 West onto A4146 (A5) Stay on the A4146 over several islands Bletchley is signposted. Continue over the junction with the (A5) on Blectcham Way at the next major island turn left onto B4034 Saxon Street. Stay on the B4034 over three islands leading onto Buckingham Road take the second right into Church Green Road and the first right into Wilton Avenue the Station Car park is on the right. Bletchley park is well sign posted if you miss these follow the BR signs.

Sun 27th July Treasure Hunt A Pearce

Start at the Little Chef / Forte Travel Lodge car park at the junction between the A38/A61 at the Alfreton / Chesterfield turn off. We will aim to set the first car off at 10.00 am. The treasure hunt will be around 20/25 miles and with tea shop stops and a pub stop at the end for food, but people can bring a picnic.

Meet at the Bowling Green Pub Car park in Lichfield at 11.00am there will be a 35 mile run to arrive at the Brewery at approx 01.15 pm. There is ample picnic area outside. A38 past Alrewas & Fradley, turn off the A38 at Streethay left onto A5127 and go under the A38, this is Burton Road which leads onto Trent Valley Road and then Birmingham Road Stay on the A5127 past the railway station and fire station, as you approach the large island you will need to be in the left hand lane to access the Bowling Green Pub Car park. Sun 10th August On Your Marks Bruntingthorpe

Meet at E J Ward Car Park Stag Specialists at Bruntingthorpe LE17 5RD to Leave at 9.00am. (The show and attractions start at 9.30am). It is approximately 30 minutes from J20 on the M1. Instructions from the M1 are as follows. Leave the M1 art J20 turn onto the A4304 towards Husbands Bosworth. At the staggered cross roads at North Kilworth turn Left onto the B5414. Continue the B5414 joins the A5199 ‘Y’ junction, continue north on the A5199 at the Shearsby cross roads turn left onto Brubtingthorpe Road (which leads on to Bath Lane and the entrance to the show) after approx 1 mile turn left onto Walton New Road after ¼ of a mile turn right into Walton New Road Business Park. EJ Ward is unit 8a lots of stags about in bits. John has offered to show any interested parties around the workshop after the show.

Meet at the McDonalds Ollerton roundabout at the junction between the A616,A614 & A6075 to leave at 12.30pm to arrive at Liz & Tony’s for 1.00pm. For those who wish to go it alone the directions given by Liz & Tony are as follows.

A1/A614/A57 island take 3rd exit & go over bridge & take B6420 Retford. Over rail X ing to staggered X roads, go straight over. Over narrow canal bridge, beware no view. Over rail X ing. X roads straight on.( Watch for traffic from left as they approach fast.) Drive thro Sutton- Cum-Lound, untill you come to the Gate Pub on right. Turn right past the front of pub. Follow road, watch out as road narrows and quite a few sharp bends. About 1/2 mile & come into Lound village. Road narrows on entering village. Pass Village Hall on left & our house is one down on opposite side of road, No. 77. House faces end on to road. If the drive is full of cars pull further down the road and park outside the nursing home which is next door to us.

Meet at the Three Ponds Pub just off J26 of the M1 motorway, this is right off the motorway traveling north, onto A610 first island take left back under the motorway and the pub is on the left. To leave at 9.30 am.

Meet at the McDonalds car park at the M42 / A444 junction to leave for 08.00am to arrive at the site for 08.45 am, so that we can set up the gazebo and all be together as there is no allocated space for a club stand. Shackerstone village is near Little Twycross just off the A444 towards Congerstone. Turn off the A444 towards Bilstone, at the next junction turn right & then left onto Bilstons Road. Take the second left through Congerstone village and at fork bear roght onto Barton Lane. The entrance to the site is on the left just before the canal bridge.
