P.R. Multi-Purpose Epoxy Resin System is designed for use on a variety of substrates, it is a simple to apply all-purpose epoxy, which can be used for gluing, coating, laminating and filling. It is now established as the primary epoxy system for the manufacture and repair of wooden boats. P.R. Multi-Purpose Epoxy Resin System is a most effective glue for bonding wood, metals, stone and concrete. To enhance gap-filling properties and prevent glue-starved joints, the appropriate filler powders can be added to the mixed resin/hardener to make a “thicker” mix.

DESCRIPTION

P.R. Multi-Purpose Epoxy Resin System is based on a blend of Epoxy Resin and Curing Agent binder giving the low viscosity characteristics necessary to wet the substrate, giving good penetration properties.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES Surface preparation

The substrate should be clean, free from laitance, oil, grease or other agents, which may impair adhesion.

Techniques should include (depending on degree of contamination) acid etching, light mechanical scabbling, blasting, grinding or degreasing.

P.R. Multi-Purpose Epoxy Resin System is applied to the prepared substrates by roller or brush, ensuring a continuous film. Avoid over-application and puddles. Porous substrates may require two coats.

MIXING – RATIO: PR-5C : PR-38 2 : 1

P.R. Multi-Purpose Epoxy Resin System is supplied in pre-weighed packs. Add all the contents of Curing Agent Component B to Epoxy Resin Component A and mix thoroughly, to maximise the working life, use from the pot quickly or transfer to a shallow tray to help dissipate the heat of the reaction

CLEANING

P.R. Tool Cleaning Solvent should be used to clean tools - do not use on hands. This solvent can also be used to further reduce the viscosity of the product as required, at a recommended level of between 5% - 7.5% max.

PACKAGING

Modified Epoxy Resin PR-5C – 25.0kg and 210.0kg nett wt drums. Curing Agent PR-38 – 25.0kg and 200.0kg nett wt drums.

STORAGE

Shelf life - >12 months. Storage temperature - 5°C - 35°C

HEALTH & SAFETY

It is recommended that barrier creams, gloves and protective clothing be used when working with P.R. Multi-Purpose Epoxy Resin System.
