Pursuant to section 297(1)(h) of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title These regulations are the Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations 2007.

2 Commencement These regulations come into force on 1 April 2007.

3 Principal regulations amended These regulations amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.

4 Use of codes for certain entries Regulation 37(a) is amended by inserting ", or, in the case of oreos, in table 21" after "in table 17".

5 Part 1 of Schedule 3 amended

(1) Table 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 3 is amended by omitting the items relating to oreo.

(2) Part 1 of Schedule 3 is amended by adding the table set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

6 Part 2 of Schedule 3 amended (1) Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended by inserting "****" after "Oreo".

(2) Part 2 of Schedule 3 is amended by adding the following note:

**** On monthly harvest returns, the code OEO must be used in conjunction with the appropriate quota management area.

1 Different codes must be used on different returns.

2 In this table, MHR means the monthly harvest returns required to be in form 3 of Schedule 2.

3 In this table, the quota management areas are the areas defined in Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2007, amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001 by--- o inserting, in regulation 37(a), a reference to the new Table 21:

o omitting, from Table 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 3, the items relating to oreo:

o adding, to Part 1 of Schedule 3, a new Table 21 (which specifies the fishstock codes for oreos):

o inserting "****" after "Oreo", in Part 2 of Schedule 3, and adding a corresponding note to that Part.
