In 37 1910, at the age of fiftythree, Lord Baden-Powell retired from a 38 highly successful career as a scout in the British army to give his 39 attention to this work; and 40 41 Whereas, as an outgrowth of the Scout Movement in England and 42 with the endorsement of the Chief Scout of the World, Lord

[3818] 2 1 BadenPowell, the Boy Scouts of America was formed in 1910, and 2 for a century, it has shaped future leaders of America by 3 combining educational activities with lifelong values and fun; and 4 5 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of 6 Representatives are grateful for the legacy of Scouting in America 7 and take great pride in acknowledging the accomplishments of 8 young South Carolinians like William Reece Watson who 9 selflessly give of their time, talents, and energy to enrich their 10 local communities and our State. Now, therefore, 11 12 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 13 14 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 15 by this resolution, recognize and honor William Reece Watson for 16 his noteworthy achievements in the Boy Scouts of America, and 17 congratulate him upon achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle 18 Scout, the highest award in Scouting. 19 20 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to 21 William Reece Watson. 22 XX 23
