Dear Parents and Chorus members,
The Winter Concert was a huge success. Mrs. Edwards is very proud of those that entertained at the concert. You did a great job. We are anxious to get started again this semester and hope you are too. Rehearsals will begin on Feb. 10th for Chorus members in preparation for the spring concert, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Wesley Chapel Center for the Arts. The new schedule is attached.
Parents, thank you for your support and dedication in getting your students here for the morning rehearsals. I do realize that this alters your schedule.
If you attended at least one rehearsal for the Chorus, regardless of whether or not you performed, you are still considered a member and may sing this semester. Of course the same Behavior and Attendance policies are in force.
We have terrific music chosen for the concert and look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Edwards
Please sign below once again giving your child permission to participate in Chorus, second semester with the same rules and procedures as last semester.
In addition, some students may have changed classroom teachers since Chorus began last semester and we need to update our records. Please fill in the information below.

Attendance will be taken at all rehearsals. We understand students get sick and miss school so we allow 3 absences* a semester. If your child misses more than 3 morning rehearsals in a semester, he/she will not be allowed to perform for the concert(s) that semester. We feel this is necessary so that students are properly prepared for performances.
Students will be considered tardy if they come to rehearsal after 8:10. Two tardies are equal to one absence. For example, if a student misses 3 rehearsals and is tardy to 2 rehearsals, that would count as 4 missed rehearsals and the student would not be allowed to perform. In order to accommodate parents’ schedules, Mrs. Edwards will be in her classroom at 7:40 a.m. on days of chorus rehearsals if you need to drop your students off early. Do not bring your child before 7:40 a.m., as there is no supervision until 7:40.
*Excused Absences If your child is absent from chorus because he/she was absent from school due to illness, please have the student bring in a parent’s note for the chorus teacher. The child will only be excused with the note.
If a child has a parent’s note for being sick and misses more than 3 rehearsals, your child will have the opportunity to sing his/her music for the music teachers. If your child knows the music well enough, he/she will be allowed to perform at the concert as long as he/she does not miss any more rehearsals. If your child is not prepared on the music, then he/she will not be allowed to perform.
Behavior Policy
Problem behavior will not be tolerated. If a student is disruptive during chorus rehearsal or music class, a warning slip will be sent home. The second time problem behavior occurs, the student will be removed from chorus.
Thank you for respecting our policies. We want all children interested in singing to enjoy the fellowship and enrichment that chorus has to offer. In order for your child to benefit from rehearsals, he/she needs to be at rehearsal and fully participating.
