88 Mixer Information Page A High Performance Mixer For Industry and Research The Principle: Based upon the Schatz inversion kinematic, the 88 Mixer uses a highly-ordered form of 3-dimensional motion that brings centrifugal centripetal forces into a state of dynamic balance, resulting in an ideal mixing environment. The Result: Rapid and accurate mixing of dry or liquid ingredients in all ratios, regardless of their specific weight. Very little free container space is required. Depending on the materials mixed, container volume is up to 98% usable.

The Advantages: Dust-free and sterile operation. Ingredients stay in closed and removable containers. Downtime is greatly reduced; no hopper cleaning is necessary. Results are fully reproducible, even in larger or smaller machine sizes. The unique motion is gentle and non-destructive, allowing the 88 Mixer to be used with delicate and easily damaged materials. Recommended also for ball- milling applications, especially for fine or extra-fine grinding, or with abrasive materials for polishing and de burring. Smaller containers of your choice can be mounted in the machines using an optional adjustable clamping mechanism. Container Clamping Systems: Two adjustable clamping mechanisms are available to permit mixers to handle containers smaller than the maximum size specified for mixer. The first system, used in the 4.5 liter Model 1 (shown left) and the two liter model, consists of a vortex of rubber cords that can be easily adjusted to envelop and firmly secure any shape or size of container. Our second system is used in the larger mixers. This uses 2 rubber-line curved adjustable clamps mounted on acme threaded rods which move

inwards from opposite sides of the carrier ( adjusted with removable crank handles). This feature is an optional extra in the Model 5, 10 and 25 mixers. Stainless-Steel Containers: A range of open-ended stainless-steel containers are available for use with Models 5, 10, 25 and the Model 45 (shown above). Please inquire. Container Loading-Unloading: Various lifting and handling devices are available to facilitate the loading and unloading of heavy containers. Comparative Mixing Time Results With Other Types Of Mixers: As you can see from the graph below the Inversion Mixer is not only very gentle and non-destructive but also very fast.
