The City of Portsmouth has no objections to the Request to Include New Routes into the Non-Interstate Qualifying Network and Virginia Access System from Linda Figg. For your use and consideration, please see attached City of Portsmouth routes for multi-trip hauling permits. Note that included in this list are the routes listed in their application package: State Routes 239, 337 and 141.

A permit is required if the following limits are exceeded:

 Weight = 80,000 lbs max or legal weight based on number of axles and axle spacing  Width = 8 ft 6 inches  Height = 13 ft 6 inches  Length = 65 ft for Tractor Trailer Combination

The Department of Motor Vehicles has been given a Summary Sheet for the City of Portsmouth Hauling Permits as part of the MOU with the State for multi-trip permits.
