1. We swapped laminated, large, safety posters. Please bring again to the next meeting. 2. Dana presented an award from the SUNY Cortland Health and Safety Office for no Fire Inspection violations in the Commissary in 2007. 3. MSDS are in each unit. Dan Davis will make sure the racks are all hung in the next few weeks. 4. New oil caddies should prevent lifting of fryer oil and draining hot oil. This machine will pump out the oil and can be wheeled to the receptacle. 5. Every unit has a plan for walk off mats order from Ames. 6. Discussed future Sanitation and Safety inspections. The team to conduct these will be Jacob Totman, Jennifer Kozlowski, and Leisa Stone. They will be extra critical to help everyone to learn and avoid violations on health inspections, fire marshall, or other inspectors. 7. We did not see a reduction in the number of accidents at the beginning of the academic year. We had 5 accidents in the first four weeks of the semester. 1/22/07- 2/22/07 4 accidents (1 student) 8/9/07 -9/6/07 6 accidents (3 temps; 1 student) 1/22/08 -2/22/08 6 accidents (3 students; 1 temp) 8/19/08 – 9/19/08 5 accidents (5 regulars) 8. The Campus is expressing concerns about driving on sidewalks. This is a safety issue for ASC. Employees making heavy deliveries need to avoid the strain on their bodies by using as much mechanical assistance as possible. Michelle distributed the memo to the Campus Safety Committee. (attached) 9. Old Items A. Corey water softener requires 50 lbs. bags of salt, and Dan Davis agreed that Maintenance will replace the salt weekly. This is going well. B. Heat tape was put on the Hilltop Loading dock roof to assist with the ice and snow melt. 10. New Items A. Hilltop had an accident and put in a work order to correct a steam well. This has been fixed. B. Hilltop needs a fire extinguisher sign and heat resistant gloves. Dan Davis will supply.
