Job Purpose: To write a software tool to link biomedical images to (coronary stent) device design.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities: % Time
To write and develop a software tool that will interpret scanned patient images of 80 diseased coronary arteries in a novel way such that (i) interventional cardiologists could be further supported in their decision making and planning of stenting procedures and (ii) biomedical device companies could design patient specific coronary stents. To develop a software tool to include a range of geometry manipulation and image registration techniques all packaged within a user- friendly front end graphical user interface (GUI). To use the Python scripting language to code-up and link various elements of imaging and design methods and to setup and develop a GUI. To author a report that explains the operation of the software tool 5 Demonstration of the capabilities of the software tool to third parties 5 Engage with the UK research community in order to identify areas for 5 collaboration or consultancy opportunities. 5 Any other duties that fall within the scope of the post as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post-holder.

How to be Criteria Essential Desirable assessed Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and Yes CV, Reference experience in a relevant area
Postgraduate degree/professional qualification/experience or equivalent in software Yes CV, Interview development and scientific research
Demonstrable expertise in computationally intensive CV, Interview or data intensive applications (e.g. image registration, Yes data manipulation)
