VMHS Leadership Associated Student Body/Student Senate Application Guidelines
1. Print and complete application in full (you may print or type information).
2. Indicate if you would like to be considered for ASB or Student Senate, and for a specific ASB Commission or Senate Event:
ASB – student governing body that handles finances, clubs, fundraising, and school events. This group is made up of the ASB Officers, Class Officers and Commissioners. Each member has a specific duty that pertains to the school and the carrying out of activities on campus. ASB Commissions: Academics Cultural Awareness Men’s Athletics Staff Relations Activities Dances Pep Student Store Care Environmental Concern Program Services Unity Class Competitions Fine Arts Publicity Women’s Athletics Clubs, Fundraising Lunchtime Activities Recognition
Student Senate – student voice of leadership that promotes, oversees and plans events that pertain to school and community service. This group is made up of the Speaker of Senate, the Secretary of Senate and Student Senators. Each member serves as a chairperson to a service event. Senate Events: Blood Drives Staff Appreciation Rally Senior Citizen’s Prom Canned Food Drive Scholar Bowl MORP Teacher Luncheons Mr. Bronco Special Needs Dance
3. Answer leadership questions with as much detail as possible and attach to application.
4. Attach a copy of your 1st semester grades from this CURRENT school year.
5. Give teacher recommendations to two of your CURRENT teachers to complete. They will then forward to VMHS. Please do NOT attach to your application.

7. Late applications will NOT be accepted!
8. Interviews will take place at VMHS during the week of April 3rd – 7th after school from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. You will be contacted prior to this time to set up an interview. GOOD LUCK…WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!!!

Leadership Questions
Please answer the following questions with as much detail as possible. In addition to your interview, these answers will allow you to demonstrate your character, values and leadership abilities. Attach your answers to this application.

3. Describe an obstacle you’ve had to overcome in your life.
4. What are your leadership strengths? Weaknesses?
5. Who/what has had the greatest impact on your life and why?
6. What is one idea that you would like to implement on the VMHS campus?
7. Describe an event that would reach all types of students on campus. Why is this important?
8. Describe the steps you would take to implement a new event on campus.
9. Create your own question pertaining to leadership and answer it.
10. Why are you a qualified candidate for the VMHS Leadership Program?
