Items that you will need to bring every day: - 3-ring binder - Homework (when assigned) - Notebook paper - Pencil or Pen (blue/black for tests)

Use of Spanish and English in class: Both the teacher and the students will use Spanish as often as possible. You are not expected to understand EVERY word. However, with practice, you’ll be surprised by how much you understand! The goal of this course is to improve your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Spanish – the best way to accomplish this goal is practice, practice, PRACTICE!!!

Grading for the course: As per the Warwick school district grading and assessment guidelines, students can expect a minimum of 9 academic grades per marking period, based on mastery of content. These academic grades will come in the form of quizzes, tests, graded assignments and rubric-based oral and written projects. YOU will be responsible for keeping track of your grade on webgrades or on your own. *See World Language Department Grading and Assessment Guidelines for more information (separate sheet).

Assignments and Absences: Assigned work must be complete and in class the period it is due for acceptance without penalty. In the case of an unexpected absence, it is the STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to find out what work they have missed and to complete the make up work in a timely manner, as outlined in the school handbook. Anything assigned during a preplanned absence is due upon the student’s return to class. *** Class activities, homework assignments and upcoming assessments are listed on the class blog by 3:15 p.m. each day.
